Desire- Alter Ego

This piece was created during a period where I felt a little out of touch with myself. 

After surgery, I found myself temporarily unable to live my normal routine- the movement, structure and things that usually make me feel like me. When those things suddenly hinge it can be surprisingly easy to feel disconnected from your identity . 

As a neurodivergent woman, I think this feeling of conflict within yourself can be especially familiar when your routine and sense of stability are disrupted. 

Desire- Alter Ego became  my way of exploring femininity, sensuality, confidence and that feeling of wanting to reconnect wit a part of myself I felt I had temporarily lost. 

Almost like calling my own ego back into the room. 

The piece took over 10hours to complete overall, layers were added to enhance the vivid colours, glossed with a glossy clear coat to enhance colours. I find beauty in the imperfect whilst painting hence why I shy away from realism and enhance the movement within the body shape.

Each piece comes with a sticker of authenticity, signature and certificate of authenticity.
